My Angel

You're gone
And I miss you
but you're here
and you're my angel

I'm just like you
And I miss you
But It will never be the same
And you're my angel

It hurts
And i cry
Because I need you
But you're my angel

We're in the car
and we're almost there
Suddenly it's dark
But you're my angel

Darkness, then light
"She should be dead"
I can here them talking about me
but I'm alive
and I'm safe
Because you are my angel

Awakening

I have awakened finally after decades of wearing rose-tinted glasses. I see aroud me and wonder where I fit in. I see people all around me in groups of loved ones and friends, laughing and hugging each other in happiness. Do I fit in with those around me? Do I belong with that group, the one running around with the children in joy? Do I even belong in this harsh universe filled with cruelty and lies? Where are MY loved ones at? Where are my friends? Are they waiting for me among these people? Or is the darkness that is steadily coming up from behind me my true home? Should I walk into the loneliness and get it over with so there will be no more questions? Or should I rush from this spot and search for my place among these humans?

What birds say

A song that's seldom heard enough,
cause living in this world is tough.
Birds they chatter back and forth,
believing in their own true worth.
They sing amongst the smoke-filled skies,
even though their friends may die,
forever keeping harmony,
look down upon us as we cry.
Hoping that we'll soon catch on,
maybe someday sing their song.
To be so free throughout the skies,
to get back up, the puddle dries.
Still we choose to wander past,
songs of love, are dwindling fast.
So listen to the message sung,
cause one day it'll all be done.

----------------------

Everyone is living thier life in numbers;

How technical the first kiss--

How organized the wedding--

Mathmatical funeral...

I.

i, poet...

want you to
Clip this poem and save it.
Hold it next to
All other poems:
This poem is
A cremation ground where
We ignite, become boundless, and
Dissolve.
The words and
Spaces between words
Have kept quiet company
With elements:
Water, fire, stone and blood...
But liberation
Is on the breath.
On this page
Your deepest Truth
Crosses the stream
To find your mercy.
Unity
Is the path and the destination.
You, witness
And i, poet
Breathe together...

II.

if i wake you with kisses?

if it was you, who with a dream
conjured that flaming ball
to end our night so softly
while we lay here in a tangle
you did it as an artist would;
in slow gradient from purple to gold...
and if i let you sleep you may
create symphonies: the muffled hum
of the world beneath virgin whitefall
the chattering of snowbirds singing awake
the narcissus & daffodil;
icicles dripping...
but if i wake you with kisses...

III.

i could say
that concentrated gravity
forms in pockets near icy stairs
and treacherous places, reconciling
its lack otherwheres:
the hovering mist, the flights
of birds, walks on water...
a poet's heart, which
in shining moments
has no fear
having merged rhythmically with the
purest speech of the soul

...and gravity mimics time
which collects in rush hour traffic
and waiting for the other shoe to fall
piles of it accompany boredom
but thins here and there: an
afternoon in the forest
and nights beneath dark heaven
and within the cavernous expanses
of my heart
when i am near you
most beloved...

Love exists out of time,
obeys no law...

What am I?

"What am I?"

What am I?
I am a burden,
Loading you with depression,
Dragging us both down against our wills.
And yet you cling to me desperately,
Keeping our heads above the water,
A hope to my despair.

What am I?
I am fickle,
Changing my ways and my mood,
Slipping into them like a dress,
And sometimes it's a tight fit.
But you're there, standing patiently
With a hanger at the ready,
In case you think that mood doesn't suit me.

What am I?
I am young,
My naievete impairs my judgement,
And I make choices I wouldn't normally,
Leading myself astray.
But then I see the light of your lantern ahead of me,
And I find my way back to you,
And to sense.

What am I?
I am me,
A writhing mass of self-loathing,
An insecure, rejection-phobe.
Lifting you up as I drag myself down,
Caring for you more than I care for myself.
And I see you standing up so high,
As you turn, you smile down at me,
And I find myself rising up to join you.
So I've finally realized what I am,
Both to myself,
And you.

What am I?
I am yours.

Just a question I was trying to answer. Then I started thinking too much and wasted my time writing this. Whoops. You should never leave me alone with myself for too long.

Old Photographs

Looking through some photos from the album of my mind
I came across your picture, though faded with some time.
It seems so long ago, yet just like yesterday,
It's hard for me to focus on that stormy, summer day.

For pictures in my memory will not allow the pain
Instead I view a couple, with everything to gain
A picture tells a thousand things, from that I cannot hide
But the memory of our being cannot so easy be denied.

Must I have been so blind that day, never to have seen
What your eyes were saying, what you were telling me.
Yet on closer look, I see your interest wane
In that very picture I see your hidden pain

The pain to have to tell me that another took my place
The picture becomes clearer, in the cold of your embrace.
Yes, looking through some photographs, I came upon a time,
So painful, yet so vivid it was hidden in my mind.

My new poetry book, THE RED BOOK (ISBN 1842941801) came out a few weeks ago, and obviously I'm trying to spread the word as much as humanly possible...

ALSO - I've just found out that it is now number one on Amazon UK's 'Hot Books' poetry chart!! How happy am I !

...sorry to blow my own trumpet (so to speak!) in this way - but in this game no one's gonna do it for me!!

I hope you'll all check it out...

Just wrote these today. Gotta do something with all these emotions. :)

#1

Unsure of myself, I
Never said I was special.
Did you think I was lying?
Even I can
Recognize a failure.

Things should be different, but they aren't.
Help is so far that
Even if it reached me, I would be long gone.

Simply try to
Kill me if
You want to help me.

So sick and tired of this internal battle
Oppressed inside myself.

Beat me until I breath no more,
Lying cold on the steps,
Under the
Ever-so scrutinizing gaze of the people.

#2

Unnoticed, I sit in the corner,
Never
Daring to look up.
Even to meet your eyes would
Reveal all my thoughts to you.

Time stops as I
Hear you heading toward me,
Every foostep echoing.

Stiffening at some sudden
Knowledge, I can't breathe as
You stop in front of me.

Shaking imperceivably, I
Open my mouth to utter some lie.

Blushing, I find that nothing escapes my
Lips. I sit there awkwardly, but you seem to
Understand.
Reaching for my hand, you lead me into bliss.

#3

Your gentle smile, like the spring wind
Softly easing the toiling traveler's troubles
Causing him to pause and wonder at its cheering influence.
(I love you. I still love you.)

Your simple blush, like the rising sun
Coming slowly at first and then emerging in its full glory
Warming all those within its glimpse.
(I love you. I still love you.)

Your angelic eyes, like the angels' grace
One glimpse is remembered forever
And convinces the viewer of your perfection.
(I love you. I still love you.)

Your silent tears, like the inspiration of martyrs
Giving those around you courage to defend you,
And to declare the unspoken.
"I love you. I still love you."

#4

Your eyes could be coals
To ignite the imagination of a painter
Into making a portrait of Aphrodite--
But, she wouldn't come close to you.

Your heart could be broken
So easily and yet be
So difficult to repair--
A definite sign of value.

Your lips look lonely
But to join them is
Not a risk I am willing to take--
Please, forgive me.

Your smile is empty
I wish I could fill it up
By spreading the joy I get from being with you--
It would definitely be enough.

Your hand dangles unheld
And I can't help but offer
To take it in mine, just for a moment--
In the hopes of making that moment last forever.

My heart was broken
And my smile was empty
And my hand unheld--
Until I met you.

My lovers the sea
Sail to freedom and escape certain mediocrity.
The ocean calls my soul, my essence, my love.
The sea beckons me with a sirens call of the wind and waves intercourse.
The passion that they show one another lifting and falling and pushing my small vessel toward ecstatic freedom.
None to answer to but Poseidon.

I hear them in my dreams you know. My lovers wind and wave beckon me to their bed.
To play and explore all the wonders that only they can show me.
The highs and lows and the life of discovery.
Nestled in my tiny ship, the cocoon that keeps me in contact with the two.
I can hear them as they love. I can see them as they caress one another and in turn, myself.

I must temper such a love with caution at being so close to such passion.
And like any couple, especially one that has been together so long.
Disagreements will arise from time to time.
Though when such a spat does occur it is best to reside out of harms way.
Or be in a well founded vessel that is accustomed to such out bursts.

But in the end their they are kissing one another and holding hands like they had only met the week before.
And as they smile to me I cannot resist to go with them and feel the love that they have for life.

This shows I have too much free time on my hands...

Why do I feel distant from you?
You say your busy, but is my love not at least a tenth of your time?
You say anyone can show affection.
HA!

Then you dont know the meaning of AFFECTION.
A dog that licks your face, that is affection.
Someone who constantly cares for you, that is "AFFECTION."
You think I dont know what is means to love?
HA!

Then LOVE is but a distant star to you.
Giving a heart on Valentines Day, that is love.
To protect those you hold dear with your bare hands that is LOVE.

You say you dont know me.
Phantom is a more than a name.
It is a part of my life and my soul.
It is considered to be a ghost, something that comes and goes.

Thats how I appear to you, a phantom.
I appear as clear to you as a dense fog.
How sad one of such beauty not to know her phantom stranger.
A stranger who is covered by a black cloak.
A stranger whose wings stained with black tar.
A stranger whose expression is as cheerful as nails scratching on a blackboard.

Yes, I am that stranger called phantom.
I am the one who seems so distant.
I have those tarished wings of a fallen angel.
I hide behind my wings and cloak in order to hide from the truth.
You want to know this truth?

The truth of how your important to me.
The truth of happiness I feel to be around you.
The truth of how lucky I am to have you.

Emotion is a feeling I do not lack.
I can express joy, sorrow, anger and envy.
To express these emotions are not easy.
To show envy at the wrong time can lead to disaster.
To show sorrow at the wrong time can lead to misjudgement.
To show angry at the wrong time can lead to despair.
To show joy at the wrong time can lead to turmoil.
Certain emotions I do not express because my pain is your pain.

Your tears brought me sorrow.
Your smile brings me joy.
So I ask you I dont want to be a stranger.
I dont want to be a phantom to you.
All I want is to be somebody in your eyes.

As I looked out from the darkness.
I saw a guiding light.
A voice in my head shouted.
You must follow the light.
And I had to agree.
Yes I must follow the light.
Weather it lead me to Heaven
or lead me to Hell.
It is better then living in the darkness
That has become my home.

Mental Diet

I feel like I'm on a mental diet. I have my list of tasks of what I should do, say and think so that I will not hurt. Burn it all, take it down, delete, delete, delete. I want no part in it. Actually I want to drown in it. I want to bury my head under my pillow and scream, I want to cry, it is ok to cry, oh but it hurts so badly. The tears burn, the screams scratch at my heart.

So then I won’t cry, I will forget, why do I feel so selfish. I don't want you to hurt, I loved you so that I wish I could be the one that wipes your tears, makes your tummy warm and makes your spirit join your body once again so that we can dance together in the sky, bomp bomp bomp; are feet go in the night, on the moon, through the stars.

Why did we have to fall out of our crevice? Oh it wasn't meant to be, what a cliché but it explains a lot. Shit happens; hurts too much doesn't it, well the shit that happened hurt a lot. I feel as if I was finally rescued from a natural disaster and placed in a warm safe bed where the wind and the rain could never touch me again, and then the roof blew off and my warm safe place went spinning into the atmosphere.

I feel lost in the sky, I jump from star to star searching, is it there, will this mend my heart? Am I being selfish, fuck it, move on, you'll get over it. Oh let me be selfish for once, please just make the pain and the memories go away. They happened, I changed, I learned, why must it last so long.

Can I take a bath in Neosporin, will that heal the wound, if it would; I would do it, should I try it, I might laugh, will you laugh with me?

So many signs, signs, everywhere signs, wrecking my mind. Can I erase the signs, re program my brain, yes I can, that is what I will do, I will relate the signs to something else, and that is what I will do.

Oh why can't I erase the memory of making love to you, why did you touch me so, my cold frigid heart it was fine, why did you warm it up, make it feel safe just to throw it in the fire and have it burn. Maybe when the flames subside I will feel relief. I know I will feel the relief. I blow some cool air on my shoulder; that is where I place my heart you know, it’s on my shoulder. Is that why it was so cold and then so hot, it was too close to the harshness of this world?

the end is insight

hey there...new to this tribe...and tribe.net in general. Greetings! here's a poem for ya...

the end is insight (title)

The journey may toss you
Pull you under
Throwing thoughts asunder,
Go with the current,
The whitewater moment,
Don ’t fight it —
Fearlessly ride
the river of fortune
Rolls
The fabric of reality
Is riddled
With holes

With no anticipation
Comes no hurry
No consequence or jury
i'm confident
My confidant,
can see clearly
And invite
(ex) sight-meant
shine wisdom with fury
…to participate, I must RSVP
before third eye goes blurry
make peace with the pieces
of how we all fit together
no dividing lines
or chains to sever,
emancipated union,
flawless communion
infinate forever

spirit college
open for admission
in your heart, the tuition
open your mind
to primordial wisdom
did I forget to mention?
You are realized intention
To which I aspire
reflect, refract, and inspire

duality be joined
juxta- is justa- position
short(en) the long(ing)
and annihilate desire

...step into my fire...

so I might bask in
your warm glow
fold space and connect
with your grace, bestow,

gatekeeper,
dissolve
distance,
step
through
the
looking-glass
mirror
into
ONE-derland

purpose ever more clear
dot your I's with hearts
and meet me here

ps: sorry about the repeats if you guys are members of some of the other writing tribes...just wanting to introduce myself to these tribes, and hopefully get feedback on my latest poem...

lotsa love,
lil 'L

I.
She sees in all directions at once
Even with her hand cupped over her eye
As not to fully see the soiled particulars of
Her past
How the “me” has incriminated some
Of those days
Revolving world around her
Has brought her to the convenience of now

II.
Her back toward the ”I”
Like a wall of clinging bricks
Fragile image edging the plank
Blinded recognition absorbs her
Woman beyond the face
A novelty behind dainty conformity

III.
What does she dream?
She dreams in tuxedos
Of lucent shadows
Of ambiguity

IV.
She looks forward now
Knowing that the light may singe
Her “prospects”
Her image put briefly away
To face its ultimate death

In The Dark

Gibran writes that "Wisdom stands on
the street corner and calls to us above
the multitude, but we deem her a thing
without worth and despise them that
follow her." Real and true freedom can
have a heavy price. Waking up is
nothing, living it free and undetected
in a world without vision, that is the
real challenge.

In The Dark

We can live in the dark
without a spark
And call this the light
We can live all our life
In obediance to ignorance
and call this divine
We can worship our own
intelligence and believe
that what we achieve
is worth the price
Who is at the helm?
We are a nation of fools
In a world spun out of control
In our bid for power
Without honor or humility
there is no impeccability
We neglect the totality
of the Self

This Burden

I did not ask for this burden
when one becomes two
In a moment
everything changes
that is when a teacher is needed
- chop wood carry water -
this is only the beginning
As the old Shaman will tell his
apprentice
'I am sorry that you have become
enlightened,
Now get back to work'
Waking up is nothing
living it free and undetected
in a world without vision
that is the challenge
How do you speak a laungage
that has no words?

~*~*~*~

Fear

All fear is death
make peace
the spirit
within
Ego
will not give up
the fight
step aside
one clear moment
there is no blame
plumb the depth
of your being
think outside
the box
let go
the identity
of opposites

Inside Out

If we are constant within change
like the Sun which remains
bright even in secret at night
not only upon it's rising
then contentment is supreme
without the weeds of desire
clogging the portal of awareness
Blind allegiance selfish and uncaring
will never rise up to the heights
Gradual development is the surest way
where as prompt delivery
gained in haste is soon wasted
If you know the firing process
for the gold elixer of illumination
then you have the quality of humilty
with great power in virtue
This is the Spirit of Tao
not detached but engaged on principle

The Mind of Tao

To active the Mind of Tao
dissolve the human Mind
Day by day
Mundane energy wanes
Gradually
Celestial Energy grows
Ture Mind
Building the foundation
There is White within Black
Male within Female
One must use the Bellows
Self-refinement
Requires the True Lead
The Four Signs combine
The Five Elements
Are One Energy
The Three Treasures
Return to One
At the Edge of the Universe
Yin and Yang Merge
Unified Energy
Absolutely Open Nothingness
The State before Birth
Clear and Free
Round and bright
Unfixed to Form or Void
The Gold Elixir Burns
With Illumination
At the Heart
Of Heaven and Earth

Outside
November 28, 2002

Stepping outside the picture
Running with the peaceful wild
Nature
The beauty of no structure
Is itself a way of knowing
Knowing that is not structured
As we know it
As we are in our conditioned Lives

Abandon

alone from the age of three
always as your Grandmother
had often said
'the odd man out'
you were the yongest of three
all alone
in the company of an alcoholic care taker
your father had been a drunk
that is why your mother left him
only to return to the intolerable
tyranny of a terriable home life
she had once escaped -
into marriage by the age of 15
my earliest memories
beyond that first cold night
that we came to live with my grandparents
apart from this dark silhouette
completely blocking the light in the doorway
I would never know my father
I never new the beatings
I was to young to remember
and now abandoned to the unspeakable
devices of the very life
my mother had hoped to escape
all those years before
no, my first memories
other than that of long days
alone down by the old long shed,
were of waiting all day
for the school bus to return home
to bring back my brother and sister
only to be abandoned once more
locked out of the house
until my mother came home
who might allow me into the house
no, my most vivid memory
is of running after the car
barefoot on a rough paved road
screaming to the top of my lungs
"Don't leave me, Don't leave me"
once more they were gone

Time Compressed
September 10, 2002

The compression of time
As life goes by
Songs pass more quickly
To the end
Moments no longer linger
On winds of change
Changes come and are gone
We are the same you and I
Some moments are timeless
These are those that we are
When I think of You
These things are true
Time Stands Still

I want to walk on water

Blacker than black
I want to bury my soul
Blacker than black
I want to lose control

In a burrow, I want to be
Hidden from life’s tragedies
Please don’t try to see
You can never know the real me

Blacker than black
I can hide my broken heart
Blacker than black
I wish us to be apart

The darkness makes me feel
The sadness helps me heal
Oh jaded little me
I will never be free

Everything seems so clear
under a cloud of passion
the rain doesn't seem so wet
and the sun doesn't seem so warm
an illusion of happiness
keeps your heart free from
the dangers of nature
But your clarity must come from
the mind as well as the heart
because the wind will fly you away
while you were busy fantasizing
about the ocean

There are demons that come to you when you try to create
Descending from folds in time and space
Nipping at your heels and gumming your purpose
A litany of rembrances and doubts
Unfurling from the past and leading to nowhere
The future is made by the road you walk
Moving forward, upward, outward you stretch and grow and learn
And though your steps may falter
Their soles uncertain of the ground beneath
You continue on this path you forge
Creating steps in time, creating beauty
Ignore the voices that tell you that you can’t
Step forward into the light
Inhale the gifts of love and exhale the love that lives in your soul
When you doubt the path you walk will lead you to your landfall
Remember the Buddha, great traveler, and prosper
For every step is a destination unto itself

The mind is left
with thoughts of the unknown
racing with speed of your own
wants and needs
yearning for a touch
a word or a even a wink
your heart is left empty
but your mind just keeps thinking
racing with speed of your own
wants and needs
you keep on walking
but never stop waiting
for the slightest attention
to release your apprehension
you stop and breathe
reminisce on your needs

Misery Loves Company

I don't think it matters, but sometimes
I wonder if I am the Company of Misery
Or if Misery's my guest.
No matter whose bed I'm lying in,
I never seem to get any rest.
Misery and I, cravenly clinging
Moaning and weeping and wasting time
And making wishes on fallen angels.
Sometimes, though, Misery & Co.
Make a pretty good team,
Turning out bales of woe-is-me
And crying gallons of salty-sweet tears-
Useful nourishment for growing angst.
Does Misery love Company?
I tend to think the relationship is based
Primarily on mediocre sex and
Arguments over the remote control
That changes my moods.
Pathetic!
But, at least it's entertaining.

Beauty is the beast who dreams
With eyes unclosing of a world
Not only to be seen, but tasted
Never to be feared but sculpted to her will
In shapes of circles, spirals, coils and curves
Her endless metamorphosis impressing on the sands of time
As she plays her silent scales across the textures of sun and shadow
Weaving them into patterns on her skin
So that she is all and nothing and everything between
Gentle and deadly and stoic and sensual
She is both the killer and the cure
Her forked and flickering tongue igniting flight or fury
Inviting the inevitable intercourse of predator and prey
Fearless, free and focused
She consummates her hunger with a single strike
Venom invading and soothing and suffocating
Sweet throes of ebbing breath
Her tearless eyes reflect no regrets
As she opens herself to devour death.

in the wee hours of the morning

spotting the feathers in the sky to write poems to
falling softly upon palms
that hold pieces of soul

there are reflections from this psychedelic view
that leave inprints
where my minds crystalized eye does follow

fascinated and pulsated by the erasers memory
designed to stay in rythmic beauty
to pray
in this abstract amphitheatre
is the route free from storm
take this grace from river
beneath the heart chains that protect thee
made of woven danelion tails
spiraled inside she
silence is loud in the temples distance
inside of me i find OM

I look into your eyes and see a part of myself.
I see scenes flashing before my eyes and within each picture,
I see me and you, holding hands.

Through sadness and happyness, through the good times and the bad, I see us still together, helping the other survive even the hardest of events.

You are the other half of my soul, the light to my dark, the good to my evil. You are my anchor in an otherwise chaotic existance.

If we ever are seperated in another life, my soul will know yours as yours will know mine and we wiil be together until time stops forever.

You are my soulmate, my love and my friend. I will be waiting for you to come to me, until our very being colide together in eternal peace.

Not my best, but it is simple and to the point.

Cheated
You loved,
He didn't love,
He wanted truth,
You gave him truth,
He swore,
You believe,
He lied,
You found out,
HE CHEATED,
And your heart and soul was bleeding.

i gaze out at the moon in its proud fullness and beauty and gaze into freedom. I look out the windows of my beautiful prison, not knowing what the world is like beyond these stone walls. At midnight, when I am alone, I dream of a time when I will be free of this prison and finally experience the joys of happiness and love.

Fist was nothing, emptiness. Then there was substance and movement; matter colliding and breaking apart, and thus, Ghaos was born. With Him, Chaos brought forth from the void his progeny; whimsied Aire, flowing Water, burning Fyre, and fertile Urthe. THen, when still in the power of Chaos, the brothers Aire, Water, and Fyre took their turns upon their sister, mixing together to bear the twins Lyfe and Deathe.

This was a poem that a very dear friend gave me in high school

love

To love or not to love, that is the question. Whether 'tis nobler to love and die knowing that you have loved people. Or to love and those you love die, leaving you to grieve your lose alone. To love is to become vulnereble to hurt, having those who you love take that love and distroy it and you

OR whether 'tis nobler not to love and be alone in life, not having to hurt every time someone you know dies. To not be vulnerable to people so they have some way of hurting you. To die without wondering if those who loved you would be hurting at your death.

Now I ask you: To love or not to love, that is the question

Death and Judgement

Darkness surrounds me and I embrace it.
Silence is something I my depend
Upon when Death is here
Knocking on my door.

The light at the end of the tunnel....
Is it another chance at life?
Or is it acceptance to Death?
Acceptance of your life gone forever.
Will you accept Death when it comes for you?

Will you readily accept judgement for all your sins?
Will you go into heaven and be happy?
Or will you go into hell and suffer for your wrongs?
It is your choice as how you live and how you die.

CHOOSE WELL!!
